Social and Community Welfare
Holiday Toy Drive 2007
During the last APPSF meeting, the executives and other members formed committees, one of which was the Social and Community Welfare Committee. It's members are Mrs. Hanif and Mrs Hamid and the committee is chaired by our past President, Dr. Hanif.
They had been given short notice to collect new, gift-wrapped toys for children from that day (December 2nd) until December 18. We are proud of the committee because they came through in such a short time and collected dozens of gifts. These gifts were distributed among needy children who were at this time undergoing medical treatment in Miami Children's Hospital on December 18th, 2007, in time for the 2007 holiday season.
This was part of the new programs and events being organized by APPSF to expand into the social and community welfare arenas. We hope to bring more joyful and helpful moments to needy people of South Florida through donations of time, material and funds entirely from our local South Florida community.
APPSF would like to invite everyone to join in these events which will be posted right here, well ahead of time. We would like to remind you that APPSF is operated by volunteers and there are no administrative expenses in our projects.
