2010 APPSF Elections
Election Calendar
Preamble:
APPSF was initiated in March 2005 and a provisional panel of executives
was elected at that time. In due course APPSF has been
recognized and registered as a chapter of APPNA. The Bye Laws of the
Association were approved and passed into effect by the members in March
2005. According to the Bye Laws Chapter 4, Section 1: “Officers
shall take office on January 1st” and remain in office for 2 years and a
maximum of two consecutive terms.
Therefore:
During an executive committee meeting held on August 30, 2010 it was
decided to hold elections and announce the next executive committee
according to the Bye Laws, Chapter 6. As the election
coordinator for APPSF, I propose the following timetable for the
election process:

Dear All:
Assalam Alaikum, I hope everyone is doing well. I was given the honor to
conduct the APPSF elections as outlined in our bylaws. Preliminary
results of nominations were posted on our website
www.appsf.com few
days ago. The deadline for receiving the nominations was October 11th,
2010. The final results of nominations are as follows:

In order for the nominations for be valid the nominee had to be APPSF
and APPNA member.
With the authority vested in me I announce the election results as
follows:
Dr. Rizwan Karatela, MD received 6 nominations for the
post of President and is elected as the President of APPSF
unopposed as no other candidate received three or more nominations for
the post of President to stand in the elections.
Dr. Javed
Hashmi, MD received 5 nominations for the
post of Secretary and is elected as the Secretary of APPSF
unopposed as no other candidate received three or more nominations for
the post of Secretary to stand in the elections.
Dr. Danyal Khan, MD received 5 nominations for
post of Treasurer and is elected the Treasurer of APPSF
unopposed as no other candidate received three or more nominations for
the post of Treasuer to stand in elections.
I congratulate Dr. Karatela, Dr. Hashmi and Dr. Khan on
their election as office bearers for APPSF for the year 2011. I wish
them the best and pray for their success in their future endeavors.
I thank the executive committee for giving me this opportunity to
conduct the elections.
